Monster Truck

Monster Truck drove up to the edge of the great canyon just to see how wide the gap was……..it turned out to be way bigger than they had anticipated…. they pondered for a moment to decide if they should even try jumping over it…..then they realized they were silly for even questioning themselves. They circled around to prepare for the stunt and revved the engine before exploding towards the ramp. Quickly gaining speed, all 4 pilots hung out the window waving bottles of whiskey and tequila in the sky and screaming like texas banshees…they braced for the launch and soared off the ramp with an avalanche of power..the flight was near perfect as they glided through the air….. almost as if the Truck was meant for the skies……..the wheels shuddered upon impact on the adjacent side. The giant beast of a vehicle swerved back and forth as the passengers fought to regain control. All four men grabbed for the wheel and careened the giant Truck into a convenient desert parking space. Satisfied with the excellent maneuver and flawless teamwork they leaned proudly against their steed and enjoyed the last of their beers while watching the magnificent sunset in distant horizon. the end.

Purple Rhinestone Eagle is a three piece rock n roll band that reside in Portland, OR. Through magic, ritual and heavy riffs they conjure up the spirit of rock’s mighty past. All the while they keep their eyes and ears keenly focused on the present and future of music.

Currently, the ladies have finished recording their newest album, their first full length entitled “The Great Return”. This album is set to be released on Stank House Records late July 2010. Conceptually, stylistically and musically, they have pushed the boundaries with this new recording, delving deeper into the watery realms of the unconscious, the beat of life, the drums of death that urge us somewhere beyond.

Their previous album, “Amorum Tali”, was released on Portland label Eolian Records early March 2009. This psychedelic sonic war cry was praised in the Portland Mercury by Ezra Careaeff, “Simply put Purple Rhinestone Eagle are an entirely different plane than their peers…They intend on not coming back down any time soon”.

Blending the Psychedelic with the Heavy, the esoteric and the existential, the slow mystical unveiling with the urgency of today, they are creating a fuzzed out rock n roll soundtrack to the ultimate search for meaning in a world full of contradictions, insanity and disempowering, disconnected modern living. Through their music they wish to state: by creating, we can create meaning for our lives. We enter new realms of being.

Known for their energetic live shows and performances, Purple Rhinestone Eagle will follow up the release of their new album with their fifth US tour and first European tour summer 2010. Be sure to check them out live in Portland or wherever you are!
