The star of Natural Born Killers and cult favourites, Kalifornia and From Dusk ?Til Dawn, is making her way back to Toronto with her latest project: Juliette and the New Romantiques.

To date, Juliette Lewis, the actress, has worked with some of the most revered directors in the film industry, including Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Lasse Hallstr”m and Oliver Stone. Whether lending dramatic authenticity or a natural comedic flair to her roles, Lewis graces the screen with remarkable range and an original and captivating style.

It was in 2004, when Juliette Lewis the punk rocker emerged with a bang. Touring the world with her roaring rock road show the Licks, and releasing three full-length albums. Now a master of the live show, Lewis has unveiled a whole new sound, with the release her latest solo record Terra Incognita.

It was during a grueling two-year tour with the Licks, that the singer-actress began craving a fresh sound where guitars would provide atmospheric glow rather than chugging rhythms, and melodies could be haunting and dynamic. After meeting the Mars Volta’s Omar Rodriguez-Lopez at Japan’s Fugi Rock Festival, the two chatted about collaborating. The pair quickly bonded over Fellini movies and the relationship between drama and music. Together Rodriguez-Lopez, who acted as producer on this record, and Lewis translated these ideas into an emotionally guttural and melodic new sound.
