TWM/Pitter Patter: Terror Lake, the Famines, Pkew Pkew Pkew, You Yourselves

It is Pitter Patter time again and this year Rancho Relaxo and TWM are happy to be full four day participants in the festival.

Pitter Patter Festival is the brain child of Keith Hamilton who runs the tried and proven Pitter Patter series over at the Boat. Once a year, the series expands beyond the Boat and outside of Toronto to several other cities for a four day festival. The festival is free to apply to, everyone who works it is volunteers and the cover is always Pay What You Can. All in all it makes it about the most fan/band friendly festival going. And we over at TWM have some great bands in store for you.

Starting with:

Guelph’s You Yourselves:

You Yourselves haven’t been to Rancho in a long time. But they’ve been working hard and grinding away in the Guelph/Kitchener/Waterloo scene. Much like the other bands on this bill, You Yourselves bring the rock. While there is a Pitter Patter show on Thursday this is the first ever TWM Pitter Patter set and You Yourselves should kick it off proper!

Then it is Toronto’s PKEW PKEW PKEW:

Pkew x 3 is a new Toronto indie-rock band who received rave reviews at the final Wilderness residency show at the Cameron House. Ever since then, I’ve planned to bring them to Rancho for a TWM. Finally it happens. The myspace is slick as hell, and I hear huge potential in this band. About time I see this live!

Then Edmonton’s The Famines:

This is a special treat for all of you who will be in attendance. The Famines are a ferocious two piece powerhouse of rock. They also happen to be great guys, and have one of the best merch tables around. Will without a doubt be one of the best of fest sets so make sure to schedule it.

Closing are Toronto’s Terror Lake:

Terror Lake have been a staple in Toronto’s rock scene for a while now. Anyone who has been to a Terror Lake show knows why. This band is no bullshit, straight forward kickass rock. Exactly how this bill should end.

And yes, you can get into this show for basically whatever price you want to pay. Although… you should really pay 5 bucks if you can.
