Event Description

Twm:Motherlode (Reunion),Purple Hill,Quantum Jitters +Surprise Headliner!

You know him as the head bartender at Rancho Relaxo. Or maybe you know him as the man with the most bitchin’ VHS collection in Toronto. Perhaps you might even know him as the wildly entertaining frontman of the house band Santa with Muscles. But before all this, Greg LeGros had a band of his own in Toronto who had some success. They were called the Motherlode. And on May 14th, they rise again for a kickass reunion show on Motherlode member Casey Lyons (Sitcom’s) birthday no less! And joined on drums by Scott (Fah-mah) Farmer! You don’t want to miss this, do you?

Joining us on this most celebratory of occassions are the Quantum Jitters! The Jitters are fronted by Bruce Clement. Who any Rancho regular has drank with on several occassions. The Jitters are a garage/psych/surf three piece who always bring a sweet show and a great time to the Rancho whenever they play. It has been a while since we’ve had the Jitters so be sure to get out early to welcome them back.

In between is Purple Hill. Purple Hill’s members go way back with the Motherlode. Here is a review Lonely Vagabond did of Purple Hill that I think hits the nail on the head:

“That was a great set at Sneaky Dee’s. Blissed-out roots-rock fused with equal-parts rock, equal-parts neo-psychadelia, really making for a high-octane, high-energy live performance. A band that really blurs the line between a hypnotic shimmering guitars and twangy folk-laced Americana, making for a sprawling sound that uniquely Torontopian. Great band.”

As for the Motherlode, just know that they are going to rock your face! This band was heavy and fast. I never had the pleasure of seeing them. I can’t wait to see them now. It’ll be about as much fun as you can have with your pants on I think.

And we also have a special surprise band after the Motherlode. Who will it be? Trust me… you’ll like them.
