Performer Bio’s

Airheart

Combining elements of Electro House and Trip-hop with vocals reminiscent of 1930s Dancehall, Airheart is a fresh take on jazzy Breakbeat, lo-fi Electronica that is presented with live vocals to soothe the heart and peppered with a touch of sonic dirt to make you move! Throwing everything into their production except the kitchen sink they drop a mix of circuit bent instruments, Bass-lines you can cut with a knife, over processed, mashed up drums intertwined with live modulated violin and turntable fun. This duo, comprised of Stacey Be, songwriter and singer extraordinaire, and Mason Bach, music producer, violinist and DJ, bring the studio to the stage, for a live P.A. that will make you groove

FITNESS

Highly intelligent music for mildly intelligent people.
Songwriter/vocalist Sean Ban Beaton has helped shape the songs into something intangibly dynamic and provocative, and teamed with co-vocalist Nicky Ramjass, their call-and-answer antics add an element of raw spontaneity and performance art to the stage show. Drummer James Miller and guitarist/bassist Michael Badour fill out the rhythm section admirably with a high-energy intensity you would expect from a band called FITNESS. New addition to the line-up, Corbin Elliot, will be joining us on keys. Choreography, costume changes, and pure fun!!

Amber Long

A catalyst in the collision of the minds… as much as one tries to do things independently, the delicious ideas of others are sometimes hard to resist… don’t fight it… accept it, take it all in, the good, the bad and the ugly…

Never put your eggs in one basket and do it all for love.

If it were possible to make her a new word in the Urban Dictionary, Amber Long would be defined as such: Amber Long adj: driven, persistent, dreaming. (1) to do something that would inspire someone. (2) to go big or go home. (3) to revitalize…" – Indie Scene, Echo Weekly Magazine

What began as the reciting of three archaic poems at an open mic, in 2005, to currently recording her fourth full-length album, XXX, being released October 10, 2010, Amber Long has proven to be prolific and ever-evolving. Her passion has brought her to perform on well over two hundred stages, as far away as New York City, Chicago, Boston and she performs regularily in Toronto and surrounding areas. With a roster malleable sets, eclectic sounds and a true DIY attitude, her performances can be considered more like productions. She has starred in a Dragonnette video, freelances as a model and starts her TV debut as a judge on the reality TV series, “Last bride Standing”.

In conjunction with her perpetual implosion into different beat labs, a hearty resume of beefy collaborations and her distinctive, flirtatious style, Amber also prides herself on being a ‘triple-threat’ by adding ‘Author’ and ‘Visual Artist’ to her repetoire. The Diary of a Suburban Diva, realeased May 2009, in the form of a multimedia package (CD, book and art display) has been called, “a daring, bold-faced approach to the life of an artist, willing to put it all on the line.” Her book, the perfect addition to any coffee table library, her paintings, a journey into tangible, sensory elation can be viewed at various locations around the GTA and surrounding areas ( Encore Records, Rare Funk, Kitchener)

There is no telling where this perceived artistic ‘loose cannon’ will set her sights next. Rest assured, though, when Amber Long chooses her target, her aim is meticulous and undeterred.

Call Out

Are you a band, performer, artist or other worldly being who might be interested in being part of this night?

This new live music night is somewhat geared toward industry types – artists, actors, musicians, writers, etc. It happens monthly, and we’re looking for two or three acts per night, to be done by 1230, with DJ afterward. We’re open to any upbeat off-the-wall type of performances, projections and other antics. We’re also seeking independent music videos of any kind to showcase during the evening.

This night goes with the flow, so hit us up if you have ideas on how to create your own space within. Email – info@themarsbar.com
