TWM Presents: La Strada (Brooklyn), Entire Cities & The Natural Shocks!

Sometimes a band asks to play your room and they are just so freaking awesome that you just have to make it happen. This is one of those times.

La Strada are one of those bands. The six piece soaring indie-rock act from Brooklyn just blew me away. And they’ve been doing the same to everyone who has listened to them since I booked the show. Imagine huge Canadian indie buzz band Rah Rah amalgamated with Andrew Bird? That’s what they sound like. Huge arrangements, beautiful songwriting, addictive chorus, and epic use of strings throughout. This is a set you don’t want to miss. And I am making it easy to get to. They will be on at 11:15 which is early enough that you’ll survive the workdday!

Joining La Strada are two other great acts who will be sharing one exhausted drummer in Andrew Bartle. Starting the night are the Natural Shocks. It has been a slow grind to get the Natural Shocks rolling for Jim Deluca (ex Ghost is Dancing) but they are now really moving. Fresh off recording some demos, the band returns to the Rancho where they got their humble beginnings. In case you don’t remember this band also features TWM original writer Jeff Geady!

And then another really special addition, Entire Cities! Entire Cities headlined TWM 3. Since then Entire Cities have released an excellent followed up record, had a few band member changes, toured around and played a bunch of Toronto shows. They’ve been semi dormant lately but are getting ready to comeback in a big way. Entire Cities are one of Toronto’s finest bands, so if you went to sleep on them for a while this would be an excellent time to wake up!
