Event Description

SynthFest Showcase #3 featuring The Peace Leeches, Hunter Eves and Hmmm

We’re back! What better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than with oscillators and knobs? It’s very easy to make a synth sound like a bird.

The Peace Leeches are awesome and come recommended to me from a number of different people. Hailing from Southern Ontario and known for their energetic live show, they are the perfect act to close the night.

Hunter Eves is Toronto’s The Knife. The duo’s music is infectious and danceable but has twinges of melancholy and desolation. They have also been the nicest/most supportive people to work with.

Unfortunately, Rabbit Season won’t be able to make this showcase. In their stead will a special performance by Hmmm, the solo project of Andrew Pulsifer from Henrietta Lacks and founder of SynthFest. Hmmm hasn’t played Toronto in a while, and I’m really excited to get back on the stage!

We’re returning to Rancho for this showcase. Cover is $5.

A lot of people have been asking me when the festival proper is going to happen. I think that we’re going to wait until the Fall and just continue doing the showcases throughout the summer. If you’re interested in keeping up on the latest SynthFest news, please join the Facebook group:
