Event Description
Little Insects is in town for the first time, hailing from Orlando Florida Rancho is in for a treat of glitchy indie-pop that in listening to the myspace I am quite sure will be a treat for all of those in attendance.
I was contacted a few months ago by Omar (Little Insects) and after about one minute on his myspace I was happy to oblige his request for a show. He is coming down a long way, and going on quite early for those of you who have a phobia of Weds night. I really hope you can make it out.
Then we have Steve Gleason. I met Steve a few weeks back. Turns out he had been at a few TWM shows recently at the Rancho. Steve has been playing all over Toronto. A talented singer/songwriter equipped with an acoustic guitar, a harmonica and a strong Bob Dylan influence. Music to sink deep into a whiskey binge with.
Closing out the night are the Heavies. The Heavies are a very new Toronto band who’s haunting folk songs on myspace are very compelling. They recorded with Simon/Tamara (Entire Cities), and a few members of the Honest I’s who are two bands I have much respect for. The Heavies are brooding music that cuts deep and pulls you in and doesn’t let go.
