Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to your use of the WeGoWeGo.com website, and any other domains (.ca, .org, .net, to) affiliated jointly ( the “Site”). This Site is owned and operated by WeGoWeGo Inc., of 12-60 Carr Street West, Toronto, Ontario M5T 1B7. This policy does not however apply to any third party Site that may be linked to the Site, or any relationships you may have with the business listed on the Site.

The terms “We”, “us”, and “WeGoWeGo” refer to WeGoWeGo Inc. The terms “you” and “your” refer to you, as a user of any of the WeGoWeGo Site. The term “personal information” means information that you provide to us which personally identifies you to be contacted or identified, such as your name, email address, and any other related data that is related to this information.

WeGoWeGo.com (“WeGoWeGo”) is an online application that helps people find venues and cultural events taking place in the city. We collect data submitted by you, the user in the form of reviews, tags (keywords), images (photos), ratings and other postings to the WeGoWeGo Site.

This user generated content can then be accessed and read by other WeGoWeGo users. You can share this content with other users and friends or people you have invited to share your reviews, pictures and other content thereof.

The use, collection, use and disclosure of personal information by WeGoWeGo are governed by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act “PIPEDA”, (the “Act”) and any applicable provincial and federal legislation.

By using this Site, including the submission of such private information, you agree that you permit the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the WeGoWeGo Site.

Information We Collect and How We Use It

We collect personal information for specific but limited purposes. Information is collected by lawful and reasonable means. In the case that we wish to use the information for other than the assigned purpose below, we will contact you to obtain your consent prior to such use.

  • If you create an account to access an expanded offering of services on the WeGoWeGo Site, we request and store personal information such as your name and email address. We use your email address to send you updates and send you notifications including offers or information from us, our affiliates and from selected sponsors or advertisers related to the use of the service, and contact you on behalf of other users.
  • We request from you voluntarily (non-required) to have you submit your name, birth date, gender, postal code and profile picture.
  • We collect user generated and contributed content including, reviews, ratings, pictures and tags to post on this Site. When you post such information to the Site, your content along with your name, picture and other disclosed information shall become public information and therefore can be collected and used by third parties in manners beyond the control of WeGoWeGo Inc. (such as search engine indexing).
  • When you use this Site, we may assign an internet cookie or web beacon. An cookie is a text file that a Site stores on your browser which can collect and store information relating to your visit to the Site. Cookies enable your webpages load faster and enable certain features such as log in sessions. Cookies may be used to better understand how users use the Site and to improve the performance of the Site. If you are concerned about cookies, it is possible to turn them off in your web browser preferences. When disabling cookies you may expect some portions of the Site to be non operational including pages that require you to register. Web beacons allow tracking of aggregate non-personal user trends for pages and to deliver marketing services with third party vendors.
  • We will place advertising or other external links on this Site which may originate from third party vendors. After clicking on these ads, these vendors assign a cookie or a web beacon. We do not control these cookies or web beacons, nor are we responsible how these vendors will use your personal information.
  • Upon the intended use of private information beyond the uses outlined in this agreement, you will be given a reasonable opportunity to approve such use for any new purposes before such collection begins.

    Editing your Personal Data Settings

  • Your name and your last name initials, your reviews and pictures will be available to be seen by other users and potentially third parties. Neither your birth date, address (postal code) and email address will be made publicly available. We do, however, recommend that you do not include information in your reviews or other data contributions that you expect to keep private. In addition, you can use an alias (pseudonym) rather than your your real name to further protect your privacy.

    Transfer of Information

  • We may distribute your submissions to third parties, as permitted pursuant to our Terms of Service. The third parties may in turn publicly display or publish your submissions in connection with their own website and media platforms. When we distribute your submissions to third parties, we typically include your account name (but not your personal information unless you include your personal information within your submissions).
  • We may share your personal information with partners, joint ventures, or other companies (collectively, “Affiliates”) that we may have now or may have in the future. When that occurs, we will make it a requirement for them to honour and accept our users’ Privacy Policy.
  • We may also need to disclose your personal information to third parties in good faith if such disclosure is required and necessary to: a) Enforce or apply our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; b) Enforce action regarding suspected illegal activities; c) Comply with legal process enforced by legal authorities; d) Defend and guard our legal rights, reputation, and intellectual property, or the rights or reputation of users and the general public if applicable.
  • Furthermore we may disclose some aggregate information to third parties including business joint ventures, advertisers and other related parties to include general user behavior. The data provided would include user clicks statistics, drop rates, subscribe rates, time visited on Site, and other such parameters.

    Links and Third Party use of your information

    The WeGoWeGo Site contains links to third party websites to which we have no official affiliation. We do not share any personal information with those third parties. Therefore we are not responsible for their privacy policy practices.

    We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.     Your Security

  • Your account is password protected. We use standard measures used in these type of services to protect the personal information that is secured in our database. We limit the access to your personal information to Site administrators only.
  • If you have any questions about the security on the WeGoWeGo Site, please contact us. Although we take appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of information, we cannot assure you that your personal information will never be disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Policy.
  • You hereby acknowledge that WeGoWeGo is not responsible for any information captured or intercepted via the Internet, and hereby you release us from any and all claims arising out of, or related to, the use of intercepted information in any unauthorized manner.

    Modifications to this Privacy Policy

    We may at times modify this Privacy Policy at which time we will update the existing policy online. Within reasonable notice, we will ensure to notify you by sending you an e-mail with the highlighted changes. You are responsible for ensuring the email provided to us is accurate and active and that by you continuing to use the Site after changes take effect, you agree to the newly revised Privacy Policy and will abide by it.
